Since so many people ask where I got my smoker cover or which is my favorite thermometer, I thought I would create a list. And because Amazon is usually the easiest place to buy them for everyone around the country, I have provided links here to my favorite barbecue accessories.

First, let’s start with Grills.
Over the years I have tried a few grills and for my favorite, so far, the Kamado just produces some of the best barbecue I have ever made.
It is also very versatile as a charcoal grill and a smoker. Doesn’t take up a lot of room so fits into my lifestyle and patio very well. If you are considering any type of porcelain style smoker you won’t go wrong. I personally started with this brand and I liked it so much, I got a Junior size as well.
And while we are on the topic of the Joe JR, I actually did order one through Amazon. I felt like I was taking a bit of a risk since these grills are very heavy and a bit fragile.
But it arrived just fine and I’ve been happy with it ever since. I have heard many others online end up with a broken piece here or there. But word on the street is that Kamado has great customer service and usually ships out replacements hassle free… (from what I have been told)
The right tools for the job
A little pricy, but one of the best charcoals for smoking I have found on the market. Jealous Devil uses quality hardwood and the barbecue I have smoked using it has been wonderful.
I had shipped to me a few months ago and I still ended up with big lump charcoal. I try lots of brands and definitely near the top of my list.
I always knew thermometers were necessary, but I did not realize when you do a ten hour cook how important a set up like this would be.
Bluetooth to my phone and ability to monitor all day has been a game changer.
Another of my favorite brands of charcoal is the Kamado brand. I have never been dissatisfied with their products in general, but charcoal is one of those things where the quality can vary widely.
Since I don’t use a chimney, I also use their fire starters as well. I am a patient man and these work for me no matter what the weather. Here is a tip. I score mine to get twice as many out of the box because they work that well.
